Family Newspaper

 Create a newspaper about family activities in the last 6 - 12 months. Include grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins or anyone you feel is family. Who might help gather news or contribute articles? Interview family by letter, email, phone or on visits.  Here are some ideas.  Don't try to do everything - concentrate on the ideas that interest you the most.

 NEWS SECTION
 Write about family news like moves, renovations, job changes, awards, achievements, accidents, big purchases, marriages, births retirements, major anniversaries, parties, garage sales. Who does volunteer work?  Who got a driving licence, took a course quit smoking?  Do a survey, profile an interesting family member.

 WEATHER
 Has a family members seen unusual weather? What was it like?

 SPORTS
 Report on your favourite teams or sports heroes at any level:
school, community club, city. Who in the family plays tennis, golf, roller blading, martial arts, swimming, skiing, goes fishing, etc. Who is on an exercise program?  Is someone great at chess, bridge, computer games?  Get their advice. Report on games you attend.

 ENTERTAINMENT
 Review favourite movies, plays, tv shows, music, books, websites or computer games.  Report a visit to a museum, festival or concert. Who has a neat hobby? Who is into music, dance, acting?

 FOOD SECTION
 What restaurants can you recommend?  Can someone share a great
recipe?  Make a top ten list of favourite treats or family meals.

 TRAVEL SECTION
 Who has travelled somewhere for business or pleasure?
Report the person's trip and interesting places that were visited.

 PETS
 Who learned a new trick or been in trouble for some pet prank?
Make up an imaginary interview with a family pet.

 PUZZLES / HUMOR / COMICS
 Do a Circle the Words puzzle using family names or nicknames.
 Make a Crossword puzzle using facts about family members.
 Write up people's favourite jokes or funny family stories.
 Draw a comic strip. Maybe include family members or events.

 FASHION
 Does someone have a new look?  Can someone give fashion tips?
